SD really enjoys having Shaggy and Scooby as the resident scaredy-cats be the ones to love/befriend the monsters and I eat it up every time. Because, of course these guys are going to care and look after the Grimwood Girls even though their fathers are the stuff are nightmares. Yeah, they’re going to fall in love with Crystal and Amber and miss them even after their true forms are revealed. They’re going to become like family with Vincent Van Ghoul and pals with the Boo Brothers and when Shaggy thinks he’s going to turn into a vampire, Scooby still sticks by his side because he’s always going to love him more than he could be afraid of him. Because even though Shaggy and Scooby’s main trait is cowardice whenever there was an opportunity, they overcame it with compassion.

Propaganda for Sanji x Luffy:

I don't think anyone is gonna bother denying the fact that WCI is literally just the plot of an otome isekai shoujo manga/manhwa. MC (main character) is treated like trash by family except for the 1 dead mom and 1 nice sympathetic supporter that can't do much of anything to help. MC escapes only to find themselves in an even worse situation somewhat of their own making, only to be swept off their feet by the ML (male lead) and saved, full damsel in distress style. Dramatic love confessions, crying in the rain, betrayal from an arranged marriage, it has it all.

Dude Luffy loves Sanji so so much like WCI is the best example and like you don't even really need to see the love as romantic if that bugs you but dudes. The first words out of the Luffys Shadow Possessed Oars was yelling for Sanji. He just loves Sanji so much and Sanji loves him too

The WCI arc in itself is mega SanLu propaganda. Luffy invaded an emperor’s territory, completely crashed a wedding, went up against Sanji’s evil science family, and got nearly beat to death by Sanji himself all in order to get Sanji back. Sanji offered his life to Kuma at thriller bark so Kuma wouldn’t kill Luffy. He pushed himself for 2 years all in order to get stronger FOR Luffy. Sanji feels sorry when he isn’t useful, the whole reason why he used the raid suit those few times was because he was thinking about getting stronger for Luffy, but realized that he didn’t want to become an emotionless monster like his family. Sanji broke down in tears at WCI when he tried to get Luffy to go away by fighting him. And then broke down in tears again when he ran back to Luffy and told him he wanted to go back home to the Sunny. No matter what Sanji cooks, Luffy always likes it and is proud to have him in his crew. Sanji is also one of Luffy’s “wings”, as stated by Robin! They’re both just so sweet and clearly care very deeply about each other.

[Insert everything that happens between them during WCI] how could I see luffy yelling about how he won't eat anything and will starve- LUFFY OF ALL PEOPLE- unless Sanji comes back and not ship them at LEAST a little. "Without you I can't become the pirate king" absolutely devastating cinema. Then Sanji laying out everything, in tears, and Luffy accepting it all and just saying, "well that's who you are" poetic. Final wci thing: luffy hearing judges bs about sanji and going "whyd he start listing all your good point" true love. This seems one sided but Sanji is also just as bad. "Which version of me do you prefer" anyone? They care SO MUCH about each other. Also Luffy loves to eat, Sanji loves to feed people, they're meant to be.

Propaganda for Luffy x Coby:

The first characters in the series who ever met and the first characters we as an audience met. Luffy is the whole reason why Koby is the character he is now and was the first to experience the “Luffy Effect”. Luffy is happy whenever he hears about Koby’s accomplishments and fully believes in his dreams even when Koby is a marine. Koby holds a very obvious bias towards Luffy (even if he is a pirate) and is the reason he learned to keep an open mind about pirates and the navy and what the meaning of Justice is. Koby’s admiration and flustered nature towards Luffy can definitely be interpreted as a crush. Koby is very ride or die for Luffy even in the face of people drastically more powerful than him (Akainu).

Coby is beyond gay for Luffy and he was the first person Luffy traveled with.

I started reading a few months back and only recently have I fully caught up and when I say I’ve cried literally so much 😭 in the bathroom, in my bedroom, at the table 💀the list goes on

One thing that I just can’t seem to get over was Ambrose’s fate. To me there’s just so much mystery!! What exactly was he thinking in his last moments? Would he have forgiven yn? Did he feel guilty in the slightest for what he did/was doing, or was he too mentally skewed to comprehend? How long was he plotting and how did he and Markell even come together? Did he have no shame selling yn off to the guy who killed their parents (Ambrose was usually v protective over her)? What was yn’s exact reason for killing him, was it on impulse and did she end up regretting it??? UGHHH THERES JUST SM

Truly he’s grown to be my favourite character and it’s so sad seeing him end up like that. I can’t help but just wonder endlessly about what was going on in that hurt, damaged mind of his. Part of me likes to believe that all their deceased family has been reunited and that they’re not actually gone 🥲

i was going to address a lot of those questions in the book but i honestly rather leave it up to mystery and the readers. i love when i read a book and im left wondering about it for weeks after because there’s so much to think about… maybe that’s why a lot of my books are that way LOL

most importantly, the way ambrose found out markell and how they came together never gets revealed because (MAJOR SPOILERS) they’re both dead so the only two ppl in the world who know the answer can’t say it. it’s like the secret died with them and i like the sound of that in an odd way.

i had originally planned to insert a chapter from ambrose pov on how he found out and how he felt throughout but there was already SO MUCH going on in the book that mentally and emotionally, i didn’t have it in me to write such an INTENSE chapter (also don’t think you guys deserved it atp in time either)

to bring this to an end, i know a lot of ppl have so many questions but if the answer isn’t already in the book, it’s because i wanna leave it up to interpretation

for example : the whole phoenix and armin thing! it’s never said at all in the book that phoenix is gay or that he and armin start something together but it is hinted that armin has a thing for phoenix

a lot of ppl keep asking if phoenix feels the same way or if they ever end up together and the answer is ITS UP TO YOU it’s never going to say in the book (there’s literally only one more chapter left and i ain’t gonna spend it talking abt them little twinkle stars) so honestly it’s gonna be up to the readers interpretation!

i literally adore asks like this because i have so many aus and stories but when people tell me a list of their favorites im like ooooh ok i think i can see the sort of dynamic you like the most (at least in my writing) based on the things most of these aus have in common for example most of these feature a gruff, rough around the edges obi-wan --probably tattooed-- coupled with an earnest, pretty boy anakin who obi-wan is a tad unreasonable about. one of them is really into their age difference and the potential power dynamics there. it's probably anakin, but obi-wan is gonna get a lot of pleasure out of it too

i NEVER shy away from a good female side character 😤 i think it’s come to the point where so many people just use female characters as obstacles to the main relationship that readers automatically expect it and jump to hating on female characters just for existing in a story or even daring to BREATHE near the male lead even if they’ve shown no interest in him. i have one story where i have a character who’s kind of the reader’s adopted sister?? and at one point she’s sick so the main love interest helps her back to her room…the death threats that poor character received for that are INSANE!! the whole point of the scene was to show how the main love interest is a generally caring guy too and she at that point already has an established love interest of her own so the hate was truly unwarranted but people were just unable to see beyond the love interest daring to interact w a girl 😒

“You’re not supposed to be there,” the crinkly voice of Y/N’s eldest sister dodged in and out through static over their comms. Despite the sound being muffled, Y/N could detect a clear tone of disappointment not bothering to be hid.

“Story of my life,” the youngest sister quipped flatly, albeit truthfully.

1) She wasn’t supposed to even be born as the daughter of a Red Room general and a one night stand

2) She wasn’t supposed to be added to Agents Shostakov and Vostokoff’s mission last minute

3) She definitely wasn’t supposed to have gone off route for her mission, which led her to come into contact with Yelena carrying a cure

. . . Need the list go on?

While all three big examples had ended up being good things in the end, there were plenty of times and places that Y/N was when and where she wasn’t supposed to be that ended up not-so-great for her. This was one of those times, even though she didn’t know it yet.

“Y/N,” Natasha firmly pressed, so clear that Y/N could almost hear her eye roll on the other end.

“Being where I’m not supposed to be is my specialty. I’ll be fine, Tash,” Y/N assured her off-handily, letting out a small grunt at the lack of room that this air vent was providing her. Granted, she didn’t expect much when she broke into a brainwashed Red Room agent’s secret base. But if Hawkeye could craw through air vents, Y/N supposed that so could she.

“You better be. You know, you’re lucky that you found the base when Yelena and I weren’t there or else we’d drag you out of there ourselves. Though, at the rate we’re going, we’ll be there within seconds with Yelena’s speeding,” Natasha said, and a muffled “Hey!” could be heard from their blonde sister in the back.

“I’ll be done by the time you get here,” Y/N proclaimed confidently, getting off the comms just as she arrived at the end of the trail.

Peering through the vent itself, she spotted the agent standing almost directly below her. She carefully got the cure out of her pocket, and then worked on quietly removing the vent. It took more time than she would have hoped for, but she eventually succeeded without noise.

Unfortunately, the agent chose that moment to turn around and away from the desk she was at, leading her to get a direct view at Y/N.

She reacted quickly, pointing her stunner at Y/N. Y/N had enough time to raise the vent and use it as a shield as the stunner hit, and then threw it back at her. It hit her stunner, knocking it out of her hand and, as Y/N hoped, broke it.

Using the agent’s surprise to her advantage, Y/N leaped down and tackled her, wasting no time in smashing the cure. As red dust enveloped them both, the last thing Y/N expected to see was the agent laughing.

“You thought I was brainwashed? Please, I voluntarily joined the Red Room and I’m going to build it from the ground up!” She declared, throwing Y/N off of herself with great strength.

Shit, Y/N thought, scrambling to stand up. She was forced to stumble backwards as they exchanged blows. She attempted multiple times to maneuver around the agent, but failed. It got to the point where she was backed against the wall, and felt her blood run cold when she was harshly shoved against it.

“And now you’re going to help me do it,” the woman declared, grinning evilly.

Doing the last thing she was able to in her position, Y/N subtly pressed down on her comms. As the agent’s fist swung up to meet her face, Y/N could only hope that she had pressed the right button at the right time.

Fiddling with her comm, Natasha frowned. “Can you hurry up a little?” She politely asked her younger sister, looking out the window.

“Thought you didn’t want me to speed,” Yelena pointed out through a quip, but nonetheless pressed down on the gas pedal.

“Call it sisterly instinct,” Natasha muttered, and didn’t miss how Yelena shifted in her seat a bit. It wasn’t like she expected Y/N to be talking throughout the mission, but something was off.

When the comm’s alert went off, both women quite literally jumped out of their thoughts. Looking down at both hers and Yelena’s comms, Natasha said, “She’s sending out an alert but . . . It’s only for me, not both of us.”

Yelena furrowed her eyebrows. “Why not both of us? Does she trust you more?” She asked, only partly meaning it.

Natasha rolled her eyes, inspecting the comms as she tried to concentrate. “Something must of gone wrong,” she stated the obvious. There had to be a reason that Y/N would opt to alert only one of her sisters, not both . . . “Maybe she wants only me to go in? Wants you to wait?”

Yelena scoffed. “I see how it is,” she pouted.

“Yelena. Despite getting herself into trouble, Y/N’s smart. I think she’s trying to tell us a plan,” Natasha theorized, hoping that her spy skills and knowledge about her sister would pay off.

They pulled up about a block away from where Y/N’s tracker pinged, at a large, abandoned house not too deep into the woods. Sneaking up to the building itself, they peeked through a window and saw Y/N tied to a chair, bruised. The Widow’s back was to them, and she held what looked suspiciously like the device that the Red Room used to brainwash Yelena.

“She’s lucky that you’re going in, because I’d rip her apart for doing that to Y/N,” Yelena hissed when they saw the Widow smack their sister.

Natasha didn’t say anything, but silently echoed her sister’s statement.

“I’ll go in through the front door. You need to find another way in. I’ll alert you with comms when I need you, like Y/N did,” Natasha ordered, passing Yelena her comm.

She nodded and the sisters went their ways.

Kicking open the door, Natasha shoved her shoulder against what was left of it and marched inside. She rounded the corner to see the Widow facing her, with Y/N to the right.

“You have five seconds to stand down before I make you,” Natasha commanded loudly, lacing her words with a threatening undertone. She did her best not to look at Y/N, knowing that if she did, she’d lose the patience she needed.

Even though an Avenger was standing mere feet from her, the woman didn’t even flinch. She calmly raised her hand and uncurled her fist to wave the device around tauntingly. “Actually, you have five seconds to stand down before your sister gets hurt even worse.”

Letting her gaze slide over to Y/N, Natasha realized that she had more bruises and other injuries than they had seen at the window. “You have some nerve,” the redhead observed, knowing that she needed to buy Yelena more time. “I admire it, really. Foolish desire to do an impossible task in hopes of recreating the Red Room. I assume that’s why you have the brainwashing thingy, yeah? I had that desire too . . . The difference is that I wanted to destroy the Red Room . . . And I succeeded.”

The Widow scoffed, distracted by her need to prove herself better, which is what Natasha was counting on. “You got lucky. I, however, have a real plan. Haven’t I proved myself worthy at a chance to succeed? I managed to capture your little sister, did I not? Hah. Not that she put up much of a fight, though,” the agent said.

Taking the opportunity she was given when the woman looked at Y/N, Natasha pressed down on her comms, sending out the alert to Yelena.

At that exact moment, a rumbling good be heard. Everyone looked over to see a mess of blonde hair and limbs roll out of the chimney, managing to land in the classic Natasha Romanoff pose.

“It’s Santa Claus, bitch!”

With that, the chaos commenced.

Natasha used her shock to tackle the woman to the ground, knocking the device from her grip. In a few fell swoops, she had knocked her out.

Meanwhile, Yelena immediately set to freeing Y/N. Natasha joined her and together they removed the tag around her mouth and her restraints. Y/N made to get up almost instantly, but was stopped by the need of support.

“Woah, there,” Yelena said, wrapping an arm around her sister to steady her while Natasha did the same on her other side.

“Let’s get you out of here. I’ll have some old S.H.I.E.L.D friends clean this mess up,” Natasha said as she and Yelena helped Y/N walk, nodding to the unconscious Widow.

“I’m—I’m sorry, guys. I shouldn’t have even been in here,” Y/N apologized meekly, mustering up all the strength she could find in the pain that she was in.

Natasha was quick and adamant to brush those worries away. “We can talk about it later. Right now, you’re right where you should be.”

I checked the afro puffs for curiosity and they were 48k poly, it is insanely high for hair. I want to be able to use your hair but with each hair being so high poly I really can't keep a lot of them in game, and I'm lucky that my computer and game are able to support at least a small bunch of them, there's people whose specs don't allow them to install such heavy content. I honestly can't see a reason why a maxis match hair is so high in polygons.

The reason why some of the hairs are on the higher poly side of things is because some if not most elements are made from scratch and also I make more intricate details and I decimate the meshes as much as I can without trying to compromise the integrity of the initial mesh. But this is why I always preface the people downloading and the patrons who pledge to me to check the specs of your computer. Not all of my cc is high poly but sadly If i want my content to look the best It comes at a smaller cost of vertices and poly count.

RE:ID Rant! /SPOILERS/

I just finished watching Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness and made some scene pack which you can find here. 

I’m not the biggest fan of putting my opinion out there on the internet but I'll try to write my opinion while still be careful.

NO HATE TO ANY CHARACTER LISTED BELLOW THANK YOU!

Anyhow, I need to talk about it! 

First of all, amazing character design and rendering. All the characters looks amazing and I adore the little details, for example, Leon's little head twitch or look at the president’s facial details. I think we all agree that they aced in that department. (will talk more about that subject after character analysis)

Now, the plot... the plot.

Look in all honesty it was a nice plot but i felt it went a bit too fast, not enough build up and stuff. I don't have much to say on it, only a few default on the characters and why and how things happen but I'll talk about that through character analysis. 

Okay, about our main character Leon.

He was badass, I'm so surprised he knew what to do in the submarine, honestly that was a good scene I was really anxious for him. He did care for the people around him but I didn’t get that sweet side of him like he had in RE2 or in DAM, I'm saying this because even if he saw Shen May’s brother, he didn’t have the empathy of his last wishes, like Shen May basically said: “He doesn’t want this to happen again and that why this *the chip* can help us.” And what annoys me the most and that both the ‘villain's’ didn’t deserve to die so the least he could do is to not make it *the virus* happen again. 

I am revolted at Leon for not giving the chip to Claire, not even telling the president about this shit! LIKE BRO. Also denying Claire, thinking he knows best?! Excuse me but Claire literally interviews people, she knows the Press! Anyhow, Annoyed...

Now let’s talk about Claire. 

My girl Claire! They made her a side character that didn’t have much to add only confirmation to our suspicions which is good yes, but it isn’t Claire’s job, she deserve a much bigger role in the RE universe! I get it, she was also a ‘side’ character in RE2 and Leon is the star but still tho! She did give #girlboss energy which I am LIVING for! She was stunning! her character design and CGI was beautiful and I've seen a lot of people saying that she is ‘ugly as shit’ as i quote. I’m sorry but she looks realistic and you are going to cry about it? She is around her mid-tweenies, maybe around 27 and you gonna tell me that her being realistic is ‘ugly as shit’?! Yeah nah sorry pal, go and like Shen May (no hate to her, she is gorgeous) then and not our OG Girl Claire! 

Claire deserved a bigger role and she is smart, like she is fucking smart! She almost decoded everything before the agents came and kidnap her, one of many reasons she should’ve had a bigger role! (Also please, your hand in marriage Claire ilysm)

Next on the list is Jason.

Okay, I'm sorry but i am in love with him.

I’m sorry okay! He fits the dilf characteristics and I cant-

Anyhow back to analysis. 

I feel horrible, he didn’t deserve to die, the man had serious mental illness and PTSD involved, they showed that but they killed him off. Why? Because he wanted to stop the virus from ever happening by his own ways? Even if it is a violent way, there is still, there was a logical and reasonable. Honestly i think and/or probably, a lot of people might relate to him and Shen Mei, because he has PTSD and mental health issues and Shen Mei lost someone close to her and they are both trying to make the world better, in their own way and for Capcom to kill them both is such a shame.. 

Jason is such a badass tho like.. damn~  He was really well written as a side character, like, I enjoyed when he was on screen (Maybe because i like him but whatever) 

Last but not least, Shen Mei!

I’m gonna be real and probs a lot of people are not going to like this but she was the least prominent character for me, like, yes she stands out a bit but for at least 2 episode she is.. just there and having little dialogue. But i did enjoy her twist, i felt like all that nothing from her was worth in someway. She is definitely #girlboss *chef kiss* and i can relate to her on a deeper level. I enjoyed that she silent for 2 episode because i can relate that she doesn’t talk, that she only listen and observes. I enjoy how she will do anything to help the people she love and that think that's what make Shen Mei a great character! Overall i did enjoy her character and i think her side role is very well placed with her personality.

CGI and Rendering Rant

I need to talk about the amount of details in the male characters but lack of it for female characters... You can see how, The President, Jason or Leon have detail, you can see their pores on their skin, you can see their history and age through those CGI detail on their skin and others but.. Claire or Shen May, their skin is  perfect. They do have a few details under her eyes but no pores, no small wrinkles, nothing. I think that's a shame. Shen Mei looks absolutely perfect, you cannot tell me that there is any default on her. I think that is marketing.. what I mean is that Shen Mei is an attraction for people to watch REID. She is absolutely stunning and has no default. 

I was talking with a friend of mine that studies human biology and we were talking about those details, we went on the subject of the women representation and rendering and we both suspect makeup is involve. What i am saying is that Capcom doesn’t show those pores because : Makeup. 

It can be a valid point. Exhibit A is Shen Mei eyelashes and slight makeup, she is meeting the President after all. So of course she would whip out some makeup. (I know i would.) Shen Mei eye Lashes are way longer longer than Claire’s which would go back to out theory of make up.

Coming back to skin. In the last two picture, yes, you can see pours and details of the face of Shen Mei but i want to talk about normal viewing of the two character VS male character same view point.

Leon at the (almost) same camera leveling and depth and you see way more characteristic then other female character even when Leon and Claire are around the same age. But they did nail it when the camera was close on both women. 

Adding a note that Claire does show a it of characteristics, more than Shen Mei and the we get people calling her ‘Ugly as shit’ for having a realistic face.

Maybe Shen Mei is younger, Probably and surely but I'm 18, i have facial characteristics. the only thing that is realistic is her beauty spot which is a really nice touch I love it. 

Anyhow i think I'm done talking about it. 

I enjoyed watching the show and i was excited for it! i hope everyone enjoyed it! Also I love all the character, I'm not bullying them or critic them for their physic or anything else! I’m just ranting about things that was ‘negative’ only because i enjoyed so many aspect of it that the post would be longer aahh. 

A few positives I will list are:

Camera angles (immerced) 

Character movement (No awkward movement or glitch) 

Motion blur (None sickening blur, right place Motion blur)

Lighting (Accurate lighting, not forgetting lighting through hair, ear etc)

Animation (Overall fucking amazing like holy shit)

Tension (Performed very well through animation and plot) 

Emotion and facial expression ( I could write a whole essay on that, that’s how well they did it)

A/N: fyi, most of these will be coming from my Ao3 since I started writing there first! it’s not much and i generally don’t proof read these so im sorry if there are small errors, this one is a bit longer since I made two chapters for it. im so bad at writing istg,,

≫ ──── ≪ Confession Time ≫ ──── ≪

❀ First, Bokuto would be oblivious to his crush and his feelings for you till it was brought up multiple times by his team, and eventually at the volleyball camp from the other schools. Most likely Kuroo nagging him about the certain someone, Khai, Bokuto talks about so much.

❀ You and Bokuto were friends for quite some time, maybe at least a year or so. And being in the same class as him, you guys had time to interact with each other and even plan hangouts whenever you could.

❀ And yes, this man talks 24/7 about you without even noticing- this varies from your interactions during the school day, your conversations during classes and lunch, stupid dumb texts you guys have once in a while, the answers you give him from the many of many questions he asked you... the list goes on and on. This makes it easy for his friends to identify his fucking crush on you. him being so oblivious about it hurts their brains istg

❀ He's extremely bubbly around you, super friendly and kind but you usually brush it off as his normal personality. ibetyou'llbeoblivioustooaboutit.

❀ Once Bokuto awakened to his crush and feelings for you he found it extremely difficult to act like it was normal before. The slight blush on his cheeks was a much solid shade. His heart skipping beats every time he saw you walk in the room. Your laugh, your smile, anything about you made him so nervous around you now. When you directly smile at him, hearing your laughs at his jokes or actions will make this man just seize to exist.

❀ Bokuto can't stop thinking about you after that thought, always finding his mind wandering to the dorkiest, sappy shit thing he would do with you.

❀ Sometimes he found himself avoiding you at some points just so he can keep himself in check and not be an embarrassment around you-

❀ He still craves your attention but he gets a lingering fear he might mess something up so he has an internal fight with himself and it just- hurts him sm- poor owl,,

❀ Akaashi finds himself trying to motivate and support emo Bokuto at these moments, usually through texts or calls when they aren't near each other etc.

❀ You would generally think he would just confess to you as soon as he had the chance but actually took this on a slow thoughtful ride. To the point, it did affect his skill at practice, which notified his teammates about it fairly quickly. Bokuto was so deep in thought about it all he was unsure how to process his confession, when, where, what would make you happy, if you liked him back and such.

❀ This eventually leads to him asking Akaashi, the team, and friends (from the other teams' ofc-), on how he should confess to you. All of the answers didn't seem to fit Bokuto in a comfortable way either, which is hella surprising. Before he decided to do something pretty simple.

❀ Earlier today, Bokuto asked you to wait for him a few minutes after class. Knowing you two had different club activities after school, him having volleyball and you have [Khai's favorite activity]. It was the best option to get your attention since your clubs ended at different times made it difficult. And so you did, meeting him outside of your classroom, just you and him.

❀ Bokuto felt anxious about being alone with you, especially like this.

❀ "Hey, Khai..?"

❀ "What is it, Bo?"

❀ That little nickname you gave him, always and I mean always made his heart skip 10 beats. The blush on his cheeks grew a shade darker.

❀ "Wanna walk home.. t-together...?" Bokuto quickly mustered out the words, knowing his throat would dry up sooner or later.

❀ Both of you actually took a similar route home after school, which you guys figured out on a rainy day.

❀ "Oh, sure! Don't you have practice though?" You tilted your head innocently, your hair moving as well revealing the smallest of details that made Bokuto swoon.

❀ "Coach said we should rest for our game tomorrow"

❀ "Ah- that makes sense, I forgot about that-" You giggled lightly before you took the lead of heading out of the building.

❀ Bokuto froze at your giggle before you dragged him behind you. Your hand softly around his wrist. "C'mon slowpoke," you teased.

❀ He smiled slightly before he caught up to you. Walking aside from you at the same pace.

❀ It was an awkward walk. Bokuto was oddly quiet which made you slightly worried.

❀ "Bokuto? You alright..?" You finally broke the silence, looking up at the Ace to your right.

❀ "P-perfectly fine!"

❀ "You stuttered."

❀ "Did... I..?"

❀ "Yes, dummy- What's wrong?"

❀ "I-... Damn it. Khai."

❀ Before you knew it, he pulled you into a kiss. His large hands cupping your face as he planted his lips softly onto yours, pulling away from a little with only a few inches from your lips. Bokuto looked straight into your brown eyes, staring back with his golden eyes. The blush on his cheeks flushed with shades of red.

❀ "I like you. Wait- No.. I love you." Bokuto muttered softly, feeling his breath on your lips made you shiver.

❀ You just giggled, before it grew into genuine laughter. He widened his eyes removing his hands from your face.

❀ "H-hey..!! What's so funny!?"

❀ "It was so obvious Bo~"

❀ "Was.. was it!? I-"

❀ You cut him off, "I love you too Koutarou."

❀ Him hearing you use his first name WITH you saying ily to him, made his day. A bright smile plastered on his face, he hugged you lifting you up and kissing your face all over.

❀ "HEY HEY HEYYYY!! Khai likes me back!! Actually, Khai LOVES me!" Bokuto exclaimed happily

❀ After that, Bokuto was back to his normal, loud, excited self throughout the walk. You guys began to have your simple conversations again, him poking you with questions trying to get to know you even more. Having the lingering doubt he had from rejection and negativity was lifted-off from him. He even mentioned having your first date so soon-

❀ He couldn't wait to bring the news to his team and friends.

❀ He can't wait to see you by his side every day.

≫ ──── ≪ Confession Aftermath ≫ ──── ≪

❀ After the confession, Bokuto would rarely ever leave your side. So he does get clingy to you as he does with Akaashi. He's not much for PDA but he's also not against the thought, he unconsciously hugs you, wrapping his arms around your torso, waist, arms, and sometimes around your neck at least- Sometimes light kisses and pecks but those are generally rare unless he's really excited about something.

❀ He gets really flustered sometimes when you addressed him as your boyfriend the first few days and maybe weeks after starting the relationship. He's just not used to it- It gives this hunk of a man butterflies in his stomach a lot.

❀ Whenever you guys had to leave each other for your designated classes, you tend to find cute notes in your locker whenever you open them. Having cute phrases, flirts, compliments, and silly pick-up lines. You already knew it was from Bokuto because you... sometimes catch him lurking around your locker- just never brought up to him knowing it would genuinely make him sad.

❀ Bokuto just finds it cool that you don't know at first okay-

❀ You always tried to go to his practices and even games when you guys were just friends. Knowing that if Bokuto saw any of his friends out in the stands made his confidence skyrocket so much-

❀ But since you guys are now in a relationship, it makes Bokuto smile so much every time he spots you in the stands of the crowds. Cheering him on boosts his confidence so fucking much- like if this man is in emo mode please cheer for him, it helps a ton (Akaashi and the team might thank you also-)

❀ Long-lasting phone calls that continue till like 3-4 am. Sometimes facetime/video calls if you both have the ability to! He loves seeing your face, he finds it so fucking adorable with all your smallest features and details.

❀ Bokuto probably changed your contact name on his phone to something like "baby owl" with like emojis or something- or literally, just nick (pet) names he has for you- "baby, bae, cloud, cutie, feather, angel, king/queen, prince/princess" and so on. He looooves having names for you because it makes him smile every time he finds things that remind him of you (which generally is how he figures some of them out-)

❀ Whenever this man finds you sad, upset, stressed, or literally in any negative emotion. He will try his damn hardest to make you feel better even if its the slightest, and if it is the slightest he'll keep going to you are perfectly fine and dandy.

❀ He'll even go out of his way to skip practice if needed to comfort your sad butt- He'll give you cuddles, so many cuddles. He's practically a cuddle monster so better prepare for how long you'll stay in his arms afterward-

❀ Whenever you guys are just cuddling in general, he loves to nuzzle his face into your hair, your neck, and shoulder. Just craving the touch and comfort of his lover. Even if it's the slightest of motion, he'll take whatever he can get!

❀ Continuing on the cuddling situation, one of the secret things he loves about you is how you smell. The shampoo you use for your hair, the body wash, perfume or cologne.

❀ Since it's fall season (as of I'm writing this ofc-), Bokuto will drag you around for some walks in the cool weather through parks. Honestly hoping to find leaves to pile and fall into with you! I'd think one of Bo's love language would be quality time (and words of affirmation.) So hanging out with him makes this owl the happiest man to walk on this planet.

❀ Whenever you are cold on these walks, he won't hesitate to wrap his arms around you. If it's a specific part of your body that is cold, for example, your hands. He'll definitely hold his hands over yours. Maybe planting a kiss on them afterward (accidentally getting flustered seconds later-)

❀ Bokuto might also just stare at your hands clasped together, noticing the size difference for the 100000000000000th time

❀ Honestly, he likes to use Instagram and Snapchat filters with you. It's really cute af,, he's such a dork for couple things

❀ Body issues? Bokuto will love every part of you no matter what, comforting that every part of your body is perfect as it is. He'll softly plant kisses wherever you feel insecure. He'll cuddle you till you agree with him that you are a perfect human being.

—  yet you would have to say your biggest weakness would come in the form of cats. cute, fluffy, insanely adorable stray cats.

    although you had your fair share of friends, you preferred to stray away from human interaction (honestly, it was too much of a hassle, you were never really the type to approach people first anyways, your shyness getting the best of you and you preferred it that way), you preferred the company of much smaller, fluffier animals. although your mother always warned you about the dangers stray animals possessed, whether it be how they could carry rabid diseases or put you at risk of bad luck, you stopped hesitating to bring some snacks for the poor, small kittens years ago on your daily walk to school.

    you paused as soon as you heard a small mewl followed by some rustling and shuffled your feet forward, peering into the dark alley before you felt something nudge against your leg. you jumped back, but let out a sigh of relief. you crouched down, holding your hand out for the tiny kitten to nuzzle against.

    you cooed and reached into your backpack, bringing out the cubes of watermelon you had packed earlier before gently offering a piece to the black and white kitten. 

    “what do you think you’re doing?” a gruff voice asked, causing you to flinch and jump back. your head snapped up, only to find the source of the voice to be someone who scared you a lot more than you liked to admit.

lee jeno.

    everyone who knew anyone knew that lee jeno fit in with the cliche archetype of a bad boy. he hung out with his troublemaker friends in a group of seven (including jisung, but how you still managed to be friends with that giant noodle without encountering his friends, you will still never know), with rumors spreading like wildfire amongst your peers of them always being late to school, stirring up mischief with their motorbikes and causing ruckuses during detention. 

you didn’t expect him to be here out of all places.

     he was never the center of all of the attention, preferring to stay behind his loudmouth friends and observe quietly, laughing whenever donghyuck or jaemin would make a joke and joining in with his friends’ antics whenever he felt like it. but make no mistake — the moment anyone saw his muscular arms and the glint in his eye, they knew he wasn’t going to be one to mess with.

    you realized he was staring you expectantly, waiting for an answer but your brain seemed to short-circuit from surprise. you opened your mouth, desperately trying to rack up a response with your pea-sized brain (stupid y/n, why did i have to forget how to speak an entire language right at this very moment?, you groaned internally) before closing your mouth and averting your eyes to the very interesting concrete ground.

“cat got your tongue, sweetheart?” he teased, smirking almost flirtatiously. (you never noticed it but jeno’s ears flushed red, not knowing where this sudden confidence came from. he usually wasn’t the type to flirt… at least not like this in broad daylight with a random pretty stranger. he’d be damned to say jaemin was finally rubbing off on him.)

   you bit your lip, unsure what to say back and cursed yourself for being so awkward. you glanced briefly at his figure, his broad shoulders donning his signature outfit of a black leather jacket, low cut almost hawaiian-looking shirt and ripped skinny jeans (it was literally so sunny outside, how was he not sweating in that? also, did he ever wash that jacket? you could’ve sworn you had never even seen him without it) before pressing your lips into a firm, thin line.

  your eyes fluttered down to the kitty, ignoring him, yet you were struggling to remember how to breathe properly. your friends had always called you shy, albeit approachable, but you never realized how difficult it was for you to just simply talk to someone you actually sort of wanted to talk to until this very moment. why was just saying a single word so hard? and why did it have to be the school’s notorious bad boy here with you out of everyone in this town?

  he frowned, not used to girls blatantly ignoring him, but it wasn’t the first time it happened. he tried to search your face for any sign of recognition, but you were too invested in the cat, or rather, his cat to pay him any attention.

(he’s never been jealous of a cat before but he’d never admit that at this moment, he would’ve liked to switch places with nal. what a nice life it must be for a cat to be fed watermelon all day and be coddled with attention and affection from a pretty girl.)

“how’d you know she liked watermelon?” he asked before bending down. your eyes flickered up until you realized how close he was to you, only a few mere inches away from your body. you shrugged, not trusting your voice to speak.

“nal,” he whispered, bending down to your level, whistling to coax her towards him. she meowed, licking the last bit drop of watermelon juice on her paw before pouncing towards jeno, her fluffy tail looping around his beat-up hightops. his usual stoic expression curled up into a boyish grin as he started petting her and murmuring praises of how adorable she was.

   you could hardly believe your own two eyes. lee jeno, everyone’s picture-perfect example of a bad boy who looked like he walked straight out of the  cheesiest teenage rom-com flick was ... a softie for cats?

never in a million years would you have pictured this in your mind.

   you tried to stifle the laughter bubbling in your chest, but jeno looked up to catch your eyes. heat crept up your spine and consumed your face, causing you to look back down at the kitty who was nuzzling against him again.

“what’s so funny?” he asked, cocking his head and raising his eyebrows.

   you couldn’t help it if your heart decided to do somersaults seeing his innocent expression, resembling that of a confused five-year-old child.

you shook your head before softly asking, “she’s yours?”

   he bit back a grin at finally hearing your voice and reached into his jacket pocket to pull out a silver chain collar with a charm (engraved with “nal”), the silver bell attached to it lightly jingling. how ironic yet fitting, you thought.

“i can’t take her home with me because i’m allergic, so i let her roam around here and visit every day until i can find a place for her to stay,” he explains as he scratches her behind the ear, earning a delightful meow before slipping the chain over her head.

   you took a step back, mentally taking a snapshot of this moment. you couldn’t help but giggle lightly once you realized that jeno and nal looked almost exactly alike, as if nal was jeno in cat form, with her black and white fur adorned with a chain collar looking exactly like his usual monochromatic outfit and worn black leather jacket, not to mention the silver chain bracelets and necklace he wore all the time.

jeno’s head snapped up once again to watch you laugh.

his heart thumped a little harder than he would’ve liked to admit.

“bad boys don’t take care of stray cats,” you say, finally locking eyes with jeno. “especially the bad boys who are allergic to cats,” you smile.

   he shrugged, his boyish grin still etched on his handsome face. (screw handsome, you couldn’t lie — you’ve wondered on more than one occasion how blessed his parents must be to have a son whose looks could rival a professional model’s face.)

you couldn’t help but notice how different he seemed now, looking more like a carefree and lovable child rather than a reckless troublemaker.

“don’t judge a book by its cover, sweetheart,” he said before giving you a wink, starkly contrasting with the way he tried to hide how he scratched his reddening nape afterwards.

he gave one last gentle rub to nal’s head before standing up, getting on his motorbike. he looked back, with a glint of something in his eyes. “need a ride, sweetheart? or the cat still got your tongue?”

you froze in your spot, feeling your face turn hot with embarrassment. you weren’t used to this. it was the school’s bad boy after all.

but you could get used to it.

mustering all the courage inside of your shy mighty heart, you look down at nal and gave her a gentle kiss on the top of her head, letting her nibble on one last piece of watermelon.

“my mother always told me not to judge a book by its cover,” you mused, a hint of playfulness in your voice. “i guess i was wrong about you.”

“i’m y/n,” you added shyly.

jeno’s eyes crinkled into crescents, a genuine smile forming on his face.

“jeno.”

you walked hesitantly up to his bike, and took a seat behind him gingerly.

you let your arms fall to grip the sides of the seat, before jeno shook his head and lifted your hands up to wrap your arms securely around his toned torso. “hold on tight.”

guess your mother was right after all.

Propaganda for Sanji x Luffy:

I don't think anyone is gonna bother denying the fact that WCI is literally just the plot of an otome isekai shoujo manga/manhwa. MC (main character) is treated like trash by family except for the 1 dead mom and 1 nice sympathetic supporter that can't do much of anything to help. MC escapes only to find themselves in an even worse situation somewhat of their own making, only to be swept off their feet by the ML (male lead) and saved, full damsel in distress style. Dramatic love confessions, crying in the rain, betrayal from an arranged marriage, it has it all.

Dude Luffy loves Sanji so so much like WCI is the best example and like you don't even really need to see the love as romantic if that bugs you but dudes. The first words out of the Luffys Shadow Possessed Oars was yelling for Sanji. He just loves Sanji so much and Sanji loves him too

The WCI arc in itself is mega SanLu propaganda. Luffy invaded an emperor’s territory, completely crashed a wedding, went up against Sanji’s evil science family, and got nearly beat to death by Sanji himself all in order to get Sanji back. Sanji offered his life to Kuma at thriller bark so Kuma wouldn’t kill Luffy. He pushed himself for 2 years all in order to get stronger FOR Luffy. Sanji feels sorry when he isn’t useful, the whole reason why he used the raid suit those few times was because he was thinking about getting stronger for Luffy, but realized that he didn’t want to become an emotionless monster like his family. Sanji broke down in tears at WCI when he tried to get Luffy to go away by fighting him. And then broke down in tears again when he ran back to Luffy and told him he wanted to go back home to the Sunny. No matter what Sanji cooks, Luffy always likes it and is proud to have him in his crew. Sanji is also one of Luffy’s “wings”, as stated by Robin! They’re both just so sweet and clearly care very deeply about each other.

[Insert everything that happens between them during WCI] how could I see luffy yelling about how he won't eat anything and will starve- LUFFY OF ALL PEOPLE- unless Sanji comes back and not ship them at LEAST a little. "Without you I can't become the pirate king" absolutely devastating cinema. Then Sanji laying out everything, in tears, and Luffy accepting it all and just saying, "well that's who you are" poetic. Final wci thing: luffy hearing judges bs about sanji and going "whyd he start listing all your good point" true love. This seems one sided but Sanji is also just as bad. "Which version of me do you prefer" anyone? They care SO MUCH about each other. Also Luffy loves to eat, Sanji loves to feed people, they're meant to be.

*gestures at the entirety of WCI* I mean that’s Love, they are Ride or Die, Luffy cannot become the pirate king without Sanji, whether that means physically because he needs Sanji’s support or just because being the pirate king means Luffy has everything he wants and what he wants is Sanji or both. And Sanji loves him just as much back! He’s his sun he’s his world…Luffy jump and Sanji’s too busy skywalking to bother asking how high. I just love them sm

omg I love your mind map sm :00 I’ve been having trouble writing out my thoughts for pieces because the system I used to use no longer really works for me, and I wondering if you had any tips for attempting a mind mapping method? Or resources you use to help you get started?

Oh yeah, I love mindmapping!! Pretty much became an expert at it when I was at school because I'd use them to lay out my points for essays and stuff.

This is my general process when I've got an idea:

For a lot of one shots and pretty much all of the chapters of 100 Ways, I'd start by just making a bullet point list of things I wanted to happen. It could be dialogue, random quotes/lines of description I thought of and generally just 'this happens and then this and this and this'.

It varies A LOT depending on the story though. Like, I'm showing examples from ch99 which had more detailed notes but others might just have directions like 'he sits', or 'is awkward. Tries to make small talk' with a line I think might work in the situation.

ANYWAY

Since I work on my tablet, I then use split screen so I have the notes on one side and the new document open on the other. It ends up looking like this, with the notes on the left and the actual story on the right:

The problem here then, was that I made too many initial notes and they weren't in a proper order so I whipped out my colours and did a mind map:

Sometimes I'll write a list in my notebook as well, but that can take up several pages and with a mind map I'm forced to keep it pretty concise so I can fit everything on the page.

Excuse my terrible handwriting but basically I start in the top corner and use arrows to link from one point to the next. Some quotes I wanted to use i drew bubbles around or highlighted, and then when I went to write the chapter, I just needed to follow the arrows.

Mostly. In the actual chapter the hair braiding ended up going at the end instead of before the conversation about feelings because I realised it fit better, and I didn't even write out the conversation about Chat worrying he wouldn't be a good leader or whatever, but that's okay!

Having everything laid out clearly can help because then when you're actually writing, you can see what does and doesn't fit because it's all on one page and you can see how you've linked things.

This got a little long and rambly but I hope this helped anon! It takes experimenting to find what works best for you, and sometimes one planning method won't be doing it for whatever you're writing so you have to mix it up, but it's all good fun!

with a nod and a soft embrace the two of you parted ways on that night

after that talk, you decided to give him another chance and since then he was indeed different...

it all started off with basic things

asking how you’re feeling through SMS became a daily ritual for the two of you

he even made sure to go out on a date with you once per week and it was always someplace different/new

you watched all kinds of movies at the cinema, both new and old

and what you found out about him was that he loved detective type of movies

Akashi would always put a finger on his chin and seriously try to figure out who the culprit is

next on the list were various pastry shops and bakeries

he’d introduce you to those he loved the most and would buy something that you wanted to eat as well as something he recommends/wants you to try out

when you finally decide on a favorite out of all, he’d order for them to prepare something small for you at least twice/trice a week

“Is my sweetheart awake yet?”

Akashi would wake you up with the softest voice he could muster and bring you your breakfast on a tray

on other days when you are the one to wake up first, you’d go down to the kitchen and begin the preparations for a joint breakfast

but no matter how silent you try to be, your boyfriend always manages to catch you in the act and surprise you with a back hug

of course, as his girlfriend you’ll try and engage in activities he’s found of

one example was horseback riding

the first time you heard that his family owns some horses you were beyond surprised

he let you pick one out and the moment you chose his own horse, your boyfriend couldn’t help but chuckle at how similar your tastes were

by the end of the day, you had almost reached the level of the redhead and his riding skills

you were even proud of the fact that there were no mishaps e.g falling from the horse, but with Akashi by your side that was to be expected

hanging out at his mansion was nothing new to you now, but some months back you couldn’t even take one step inside of it, afraid that you might dirty the flawlessly cleaned floor

with your luck, you even got to meet his father on that exact same day

at first, he appeared quite cold and uninterested in who you were, but the moment you told him his name his attitude changed

during the typical ‘so dad, this is (Y/N), the person I’ve been dating for some time...’ he managed to keep his CEO-like facade and aura up

but when his son left to get you three some drinks and snacks he was a changed man

his father took your hands in his and squeezed them while he thanked you multiple times for making Akashi smile every day, for helping him out when he most desperately needed it, for loving him that much despite his “condition” and for simply staying by his side without any ulterior motives

you were so flabbergasted after the sudden shower of compliments that the rest of the conversation was a complete blur

the memory you were most fond of with him was the night of his birthday

you had baked some winter-themed cookies and had prepared an entire dinner for him so that when he comes back all he had to do was sit down and enjoy the feast  

after your guys’ hunger was satisfied, the two of you sat down in front of your fireplace, cuddling with each other and laughing about the past

“You know Akashi...back then when you guys went against Jabberwock and you changed back I was actually a tad worried.“, you confessed with a silent voice while the burning fire enhanced your soft facial features

said man just buried his fingers in your hair and gently caressed your head, symbolizing that he was listening to you

your boyfriend waited a short while for you to continue, but you didn’t so he softly kissed your temple and asked: “Worried about...?“

“Worried that you might revert back to your old closed-off self...“

a sad smile adored his features since he knew what you meant with it

back when he still had his ‘emperor personality’ he almost never relied on you

your words of affection and encouragement meant almost nothing to him back then

but much to your surprise he didn’t change at all afterward

I also highly recommend this post made by Nancy-Drew-Designs that I just rebagled. I love the way they've organized the games into this chart, it's very reliable, even when taking int account that each game's difficulty can be suggestive. It might be easier to use this when you've got a few games below your belt, though! None of the above posts contain spoilers <3 (None of the below do either!)

This gets VERY long and rambly here, and I don't even mention all the games >>; Sorry!

So TBH my tastes/suggestions haven't changed much in the 4 years since I was asked which games were the 'best.' I will still stick by Ghost of Thorton Hall, Shadow at the Water's Edge, Final Scene. I will also toss Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake, The Haunted Carousel, or Message in a Haunted Mansion into the ring. ...Charlie loves spooky stuff, can you tell XD DOG, CAR, and MHM are all older games, and despite their age they have stood up to time pretty well.

MHM is a shorter game but riddled with spooks and creeps around every corner. There's a particular scare on the foyer staircase that chills me to this day. Play this in the dark with headphones on!

DOG was baby Charlie's first game and so it will always be one of my reccs. It's got ghost puppos, spooky woods, cemeteries, and talks of old gangsters in the roaring 20's! What's not to love!

CAR is another shortish game, with somewhat simple puzzles. I love theme parks too, I grew up with my folks working the town carnival. There's something about an empty theme park that soothes/relaxes me, but I think it's liminal space for a lotta people. I also like it's secondary plot/message about grieving and loss, and it's one of my most replayed games simply for the gentleness of it. The music is just haunting, too~

The nice thing about ND games is there is, literally, something for everyone! And they, most of them anyway, maintain their theme's integrity or showcase good, honest research to whatever their niche subject is. Some games you have to suspend disbelief more than others, for example Secret of the Scarlet Hand is NOT osha safe, and that's all I'll say about that. (But omg, is it a cool as fuck game, and they did their due diligence with Mayan culture, even made baby!Charlie stop and question why it was okay for museums to just...take from other cultures even in the name of learning and preservation. Like, good for them, my mom loved that sm.)

If you love orcas or the ocean, or perhaps have fond memories of East Coast livin', you'd enjoy Danger on Deception Island, or maybe you'd like to head to the tropics, in which case, Creature of Kapu Cave might be a fun one.

The Legend of the Crystal Skull has lots of perils and unease, and since it's rooted in New Orleans that's no surprise.

If you like horses, or old western romances, perhaps the Secret at Shadow Ranch will tempt you first!

You also can't go wrong with The Secret of the Old Clock, which is a cute lil rewind and lovingly recreates the first Nancy Drew book while still keeping itself fresh and unique. Plus hey, mini golf!

And if you were an Ancient Egypt kid, like so many of us were, then Secret of the Lost Tomb will be right up your alley~

And of course, if you want to literally start from the ground up, simply check the wiki, and you can play them in order <3 (Though I will suggest playing the Remastered Secrets Can Kill in place of game 1. XD It's a lil more fleshed out, more polished etc.)

The newer games, in my opinion, are sort of where things start to...fall apart. I have played The Silent Spy, Labyrinth of Lies and didn't like them. I played Sea of Darkness and did enjoy it but...well, let's put put this way:

I've played those newer games past GTH once. More out of desperation and loyalty for the old studio, frankly. They are not high on my list of recommendations, but perhaps you will play them and find something more to love than I did, Anon.

I've replayed most of the above recommendations since 2002, almost ad nausea, all different levels. Some of my best memories are playing them over with my friends, watching the game new through their eyes. I've converted a few who snubbed point and clicks into ND addicts, having had them tell me, "well these games are different. Even the campy, old ones--they just are."

Now, quickly, difficulty can be relative. I personally think some of the 'harder' games are easier and vice versa, but the games thankfully all come with Amateur and Master Sleuth modes.

There really isn't a wrong answer, to be honest. (Except Midnight in Salem. Please don't start with that one.)

Certainly go with your gut, and dig into titles that pique your interest beyond the ones I've mentioned. And of course, come back and tell me what you think!

Altura was thriving. That’s all there was to it. Altura was thriving with George in power, Warren as her right-hand, and everything seemed to be okay. Of course, that wouldn’t be for long like it usually is with this group, but that was okay.

You wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Well, you’d trade some things. Like Murphy, for example. 

He’s been spending most of his time with Warren. You shouldn’t be jealous, but you are. She’s a newly deemed talker somehow, and he’s probably coaching her through some things. But your brain—that was still your own, thank God—was giving you red flags.

It’s definitely from Murphy telling you about his past with dating from Pre-Z. You knew the past was in the past. He was literally red now, so there’s nothing else you could really hold against him.

He’s changed. He’s shown you that.

Yet you still felt some jealousy in the pit of your stomach every time he said something about Warren. Or, Roberta, as he affectionately called her.

10k and Doc were noticing your conflict from the side of the mess hall as you held a cup of water, looking right where Murphy and Warren were talking animatedly.

“Kid,” Doc said suddenly, clapping your shoulder. You didn’t jump. “You’re worryin’ over nothing.”

You took a deep breath, turning your head to glance over at Doc. “I know.”

“He’s head over heels for you,” 10k added somewhat helpfully. “It’s kinda.. disgusting, actually.”

Doc cleared his throat harshly and gave 10k a shove.

“What he’s sayin’ is, Murphy loves ya. He wouldn’t try and do anything to hurt you.”

You let out a laugh as you chugged the rest of the water from your cup, smiling as you swallowed, shaking your head fondly.

The both of them gave you an affirmative as you started to walk away, tossing your small paper cup in a trash can that was in your path.

It was an internal battle all day for you. You loved Warren and you loved Murphy, but seeing them together just kept bugging you. Maybe it was just because you were practically casted aside? Who knew. You didn’t. The only think you knew at this point as you helped some of the people in Altura was that you’re most definitely asking Addy if she still had that flask of whiskey on her.

Murphy finally acknowledged you and gave you some form of affection at the bonfire. Obviously, you were a little pissed. You’d been around all day, and he chose now to actually throw an arm around your shoulders?

Bullshit.

Murphy noticed something was wrong with you, for lack of better terms, and easily followed you when you quickly volunteered to get more wood for the fire.

He called your name about three times as you led him to the firewood that was freshly chopped before his hand shot out to grab your own before you could grab any wood. 

“Baby, talk to me,” Murphy stressed gently, his grip slightly comforting. You sighed and tried not to turn around to look at him right away.

“I....are you wanting to be with Warren?”

Murphy’s jaw kind of dropped when you said that finally.

“What? No, no. No. No way. Me and Roberta? Hell no. She’d kick my ass into next week—”

“Then why the hell have you been ignoring me for the past couple of days while you’re not busy, Murphy? You’re always with her. Always talking with her, always joking around!” You exclaimed, finally turning to look at him in the eye. “We haven’t had any time to ourselves lately, and I get that Warren’s a talker now, but haven’t you thought that maybe, just maybe you should spend some time with your significant other who almost died saving your ass just a few nights ago?”

Murphy was...well, he was speechless. Your words hit him a little too hard for comfort. You were right. He’s been spending all of his off time with Roberta this week. Granted, he thinks he’s allowed to do that, but he didn’t even communicate with you about it.

You had the right to be pissed off.

Before you could carry on speaking, Murphy launched into a string of apologies and explanations. 

He was nervous. He does this often. His mouth runs almost just as fast as his thoughts when he gets to thinking, and he’s rambling about how he feels terrible that he hasn’t talked to you in what feels like ages.

You tried to interrupt him several times. Murphy just kept talking and talking and talking. And you were growing tired of watching him swing your arm around as he spoke with his hands.

After pulling your hand from his grasp, he kept going on and on about what he’s been busy with and he’s sorry while your hands reached up to grab the lapels of his jacket he was wearing. And after a moment?

You yanked him down and pressed your lips to his. It was extremely effective, he shut up in order to actually bend down properly to reach your height.

It took a moment to get out of the awkward stance you both adopted before the kiss was deepening and your back was being pressed into the wall of a nearby shed.

Murphy pulled away from the kiss in heavy pants, hands caging you in between him and the wood. “Do you...do you want to do this?”

You rolled your eyes with a gentle smile, your hands wrapping around his neck tightly before you surged forwards to press your lips to his, locking your lips into a more passionate kiss in this moment.

Hopefully, the bonfire can hold out for a while before you two are done making up.

Embry Call = umbilical cord? Damn it if I had known we were gonna start making a list of alternate names for the characters I would've kept the list my friend and I made way back in high school. We had some gems on there too. Sadly it's gone and I don't remember like any of them. Although "umbilical cord/embryo" is what we had down for Embry.

I love the running joke in fandom of using anything but ‘Renesmee’ for Bella’s child.  Or “Edwin” for Edward via Charlie.  Or jokes about Embry’s name. All great.

Part of the reason that “Renesmee” is still so jarring to me is that otherwise SM was pretty restrained with names? There are some uncommon ones like Embry and Quil but they are treated as unusual names by the characters, and Aro, but for the most part everyone has generic white American names. Human kids have perfectly common names for kids born in the late 80s--Jessica, Lauren, Mike, Angela, Eric, Ben, Katie. 

You have superpowered vampires with names like Edward, Alice, Jane, Maggie, Garrett.  She didn’t name Edward like, Tristan Casanova Montague or some pretentious romantic name, he’s Edward Masen. EDWARD. A perfectly normal name for a guy born in 1901, but sounds frumpy to modern ears. I loved that! Alice is a full-on manic pixie dream vampire girl with psychic powers but again, her name is totally normal for the time period she comes from. SM didn’t name her Cassandra or Titania or something off-the-wall to signify how special and otherworldly she is. 

With the non-American vampires she’s hit or miss. I don’t know enough about their culture or time period to say how realistic Zafrina, Senna or Kachiri are as names.  ‘Benjamin’ is fine but is probably an Anglicized spelling of his original name. “Vladimir” is Russian, not Romanian. And “Katrina” is not Russian or Slovakian (she was probably going for Ekaterina/Katarina). But they still feel like “normal” names. They make sense and don’t stand out. 

And then we get ‘Renesmee’ and it just broke my brain. It doesn’t fit at all.  If Edward and Alice didn’t need unique special magical names to designate how special they were, why does Renesmee? If a boy was literally going to be Edward Jacob/Edward Jr, why does a girl get a made up name? 

If this were the story of the vampire Tristan Montague vying for the love of Isadora Swan and rivaled by Jaydyn Wolfe or something, ‘Renesmee’ might not seem that weird. It wouldn’t seem like a weird name in the Potterverse or in the Hunger Games world, for example, where lots of characters have whimsical, unusual names.  But when these characters are mostly named things like Edward, Jacob, and Isabella, “Renesmee” just sticks out like a sore thumb and pulls me out of the story every damned time, even all these years later.
